An Afterthought =)

Be that as it may, this is my blog after all and i can do whatever i please. Nevertheless, i implore for gentle criticisms, if ever there'll be one. I would prefer positive ones although I could settle for less, rather than not having one at all . .

Hahaha.. nobody reads my blog anyways . . . =) Who am I fooling?

I admit, at times I'm a total whacko! I'm crazily happy about it. I affirm and accept myself ~ of who I am, what I"ve become and how I am in any given situation.

How it all started..

Words just started overflowing soon as I sat in front of my computer. It eventually ended up as short poems. It happened right after reading the article about stargazing (please see link below). I felt something stirred inside me and did an impromptu and I'm happy. And because of that, I feel much lighter now.

I never wrote a complete poem before. And now that I've done two poems in a row, in one seating, please bear with me ~ of how naive and however simple it may sound to you. Those were my feelings and how I felt then and I just wanted to let it all out. Indulge me, as I rarely talk about my feelings.

Just a few mortals in the world knew how I love the moon. Another secret, every full moon under its ray of white light in the darkness of the night, I bask under her.. unless I'm not scared (oh, but that's another story, another blog to tell next time).


Oh and today's Ramadan, a public holiday in the Philippines.

Full Moon

i gaze towards the heavens
to glimpse the moon in bloom
wishing for something i couldn't have
but that's not what my heart wants
i know, it's been so long
she's my twin, a bond too strong
the light revives my soul
silence that keeps me whole
you give me strength i never knew i had
and assures the doubts at bay
at last, i found my yearning for serenity
as i seek delight in your eternity.

Stargazing

deep in the stillness
my head swirls
i find comfort in the blackness
and solace in its silence
the scent of fresh air reverbates
and eases the fire that battles within
stars gather to whisper in my ears
to console me to face my fears
trees dance in the distance
to appease the troubles within
but knowing the moon, like an owl staring
will always be there watching over me.
